President Dwayne McCay and First Lady Mary Helen McCay spoke with a class of middle school students on Feb. 21 about invention and the creative process for innovation. The students attend Mater Academy Cutler Bay, a charter school in South Florida, and asked the couple a range of questions, from what inspired them in their careers to the favorite part of their jobs.
“Perseverance is the most important key to achievement,” Dwayne McCay said. “And enjoying your work—if you enjoy it, you’ll always do well,” Mary Helen McCay added.
The McCays are both members of the National Academy of Inventors and the Florida Inventors Hall of Fame. The Zoom teleconference took place in the Olin Studio.
