McCay, Grant Visit Burrell College, Spaceport America

Florida Tech President Dwayne McCay and Gary Grant, senior vice president of development, visited Burrell College of Osteopathic Medicine, Space Port America and Virgin Galactic during a February trip to Las Cruces, New Mexico.

McCay and Grant, pictured above, were joined by Florida Tech alumnus Mike Moses ’91, president of Virgin Galactic. The trio first toured Burrell College of Medicine, which has partnered with Florida Tech and Steward Health Care to launch a Florida-based medical clerkship program this summer. At Burrell, they met with Dean Don Peska and President John Hummer.

They then traveled to Spaceport America, a hub for Virgin Galactic. There, they saw Virgin Galactic vehicles and learned about the 1 ½-hour trips the company offers which include several minutes in space. McCay and Grant took a simulated version of the flight.
