Walton, Sandall Speak at U.S. Chamber Event

Professor Abram Walton and Associate Professor Darrel Sandall, both at the Bisk College of Business, were recently honored to serve as subject matter experts on the science of innovation and professional certification bodies in the innovation field at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s Global Innovation Policy Center in Washington, D.C.

As U.S. delegates to the international community on behalf of the International Standards Organization (ISO), Walton and Sandall delivered speeches regarding the implementation of new ISO innovation management system standards around the world and what U.S. firms and institutions of higher education need to know and implement to keep pace with the world-wide ISO standards for innovation and innovation management.

In addition to representatives from ISO and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, attendees at the event included members of the American National Standards Institute (ANSI), the International Association of Innovation Professionals (IAOIP), the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), and the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).

Walton and Sandall, who serve as the director and assistant director, respectively, of Florida Tech’s Center for Innovation Management and Business Analytics, hold the title of Certified Chief Innovation Officers, the highest certification that is given by the IAOIP.
