Florida Tech was recognized with the United Way of Brevard’s Campaign Achievement Award at the agency’s annual end-of-campaign celebration on April 24.
The award is earned by organizations that significantly increased their workplace campaigns by implementing a number of campaign “best practices,” including incentives, increased educational outreach and fun activities.
Florida Tech’s campaign this year, managed by Alison Bogart, featured special events such as penny wars, homecoming king and queen competition, a raffle at the Staff Advisory Halloween party, and dining cash register donations.
The campus community donated $119,029, exceeding the $110,000 goal and representing a nearly 20 percent increase the previous campaign. Bogart said more than 100 employees pledged for the first time or increased their gifts.
