Blair Serves as Curator in China

Nancy Blair, MFA, an instructor in the School of Arts & Communication, recently returned from a one-year appointment as executive artistic director and curator for YZ Creative Art Center in Shanxi, China. While there, she worked closely with architects, engineers and international artists to design and equip a state-of-the-art ceramics and glass center.

Yun Zhu Scenic Lake Development is building a major resort city with arts, sports and nature as the main focus.

Blair is closely affiliated with Pilchuck Glass School founded by glass artist Dale Chihuly, where she has taught and received the prestigious Hauberg Fellowship. Her glass art is in the collection of Sir Elton John, the Tacoma Museum of Glass and numerous other collections nationally and internationally.

Prior to leaving for China, Blair, third from left in the picture, worked closely with Professor Bill Leach in co-developing the Integrated Arts course for Florida Tech online.
