Joy Patterson, instructor, School of Arts and Communication, has been named Florida Tech’s Most Valuable Panther for August.
In announcing the award, the Office of Human Resources said:
“Joy’s dedication to teaching extends far beyond the classroom. She implemented the Writer’s Den writing center, recruits students with exceptional writing skills to provide peer-to-peer tutoring, and encourages the involvement and collaboration of her School of Arts and Communication colleagues. Students’ understanding of the effective use of the written English language is Joy’s passion, and she contributes directly to student success and retention on this campus.”
The MVP program recognizes faculty and staff who embody both the university’s standards for innovation and excellence, and offer quality of service to the campus at large and individual students.
