Graduating West Shore Jr./Sr. High student and dual enrollee at Florida Tech Muhammad Abdulla won first place and the grand award in mathematics at the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair in Pittsburgh May 13-16.
Abdulla, who won $8,500, also was awarded the prestigious Dudley R. Herschbach SIYSS Award, which brings with it an all-expenses-paid trip to Stockholm, Sweden, to attend the International Youth Science Seminar held during the Nobel Prize Ceremonies in December 2018. Just 25 scientists from around the world between the ages 18-25 are selected to attend SIYSS and present their research.
Abdulla’s research project is called, “On the Fine Classification of the Second Minimal Orbits.” He did his research at the Florida Tech REU Site on Partial Differential Equations and Dynamical Systems.
