CASIS Chief Visits Campus

Gregory Johnson, a shuttle astronaut and president and executive director of the Center for the Advancement of Science in Space (CASIS), visited Florida Tech Feb. 28. During his visit, Johnson met with university leadership and faculty and toured campus labs.

CASIS identifies innovative applications and develops new partnership opportunities as the manager of the International Space Station National Laboratory.

Johnson met with President Dwayne McCay and representatives of the departments of Biological Sciences, Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Physics & Space Sciences, Mathematics, and Human Centered Design, including Daniel Batcheldor (pictured, on right, with Johnson), Drew Palmer, Kunal Mitra, Markus Wilde, Ondrej Doule, Brian Kish, Ugur Abdulla and Kenia Nunes Bruhn.
