Hands Across Campus Draws Hundreds

Hundreds of members of the Florida Tech community gathered on the Panthereum Dec. 1 and joined hands as the university held its first-ever Hold Hands Across Florida Tech event. A unifying and open effort to highlight the university’s longstanding embrace and celebration of diversity, the event featured opening remarks from President T. Dwayne McCay and Chief Diversity Office Joni Oglesby before the crowd joined hands.

The spirit of the event carried forth to at least one classroom, as well. Assistant Professor Dzmitry Yuran in the School of Arts and Communication was holding his Scientific and Technical Communication class at the time of the Panthereum gathering when his students joined hands amid their desks.
