Aviation maintenance technicians at FIT Aviation and the maintenance shop itself were recognized recently with Federal Aviation Administration honors. The shop received the FAA’s William (Bill) O’Brien Diamond Award. And 12 technicians in the shop were awarded distinctions under the FAA’s Aviation Maintenance Technician Awards Program.

The individual awards are granted to technicians and employers who demonstrate technical competence and commitment to ongoing professional development and training. The technicians at FIT Aviation trained for a combined 200-plus hours in 2015, with each having undergone a minimum of 12 hours individually.
