Students Excel at Tri Beta Conference

Six Florida Tech students participated in the regional conference of Beta, the national biological honor society, held March 31-April 3 in Concord, N.C. Student presenters were Nate Zbasnik, Molly Wightman, Kristin Treat, Louis Penrod, Sebastian Martinez and Kyle Macke.

The students won half of the total awards given: Zbasnik, first place poster; Penrod, first place oral presentation; Macke, third place oral presentation; Martinez, honorable mention oral presentation.

Glenn Miller from the Department of Biological Sciences won Outstanding Advisor. And the group also won longest distance traveled at 585 miles one-way.

Ralph Turingan, also from Biological Sciences, advised both first place winners.
