Three Florida Tech students were recognized at the 2016 Florida Academy of Sciences annual meeting.

In the category of Atmospheric and Oceanographic Sciences, L. Holly Sweat was recognized for Outstanding Oral Presentation, Graduate, for, “Florida’s Panama Canal: Using the Okeechobee Waterway to investigate the role of freshwater shipping on marine biofilm.” And Angelica Zamora-Duran won Honorable Mention for Oral Presentation, Graduate, for “Benthic foraminifera as bioindicators of environmental conditions in the Indian River Lagoon.”

In Medical Sciences, Sohum K. Patel won for Outstanding Poster Presentation, Undergraduate, for “Mitotic index as a prognostic marker for melanoma.”
