Chemical engineering student Kristin Howe with her award-winning project.

Chemical engineering senior Kristin Howe earned 2nd place in the Catalysis and Reaction Engineering division of the National Student Paper Competition held at the 2015 Annual Meeting of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers in Salt Lake City, Utah. Kristin presented the outcome of a project she carried out last summer that was sponsored by the National Science Foundation – Research Experience for Undergraduates (NSF-REU) Program in which she synthesized a variety of nickel-based catalysts and tested them in a reactor with a tri-reforming gas mixture.
