Famed moonwalker and Florida Tech faculty member Buzz Aldrin and Executive Vice President, COO and incoming president T. Dwayne McCay were among dozens of participants in the first workshop at the university’s new Buzz Aldrin Space Institute since the institute was announced last year.

The two-day event Jan. 18-19 featured presentations from Florida Tech faculty highlighting space-related research and projects under way at the university, as well as discussions on space systems and other topics, breakout groups and more.

Institute Director Andy Aldrin said he was impressed with the work underway at Florida Tech.
