Outstanding Doctoral Student in Chemistry Named

Shishir Chourey, a Ph.D. student in Professor Joshua Rokach’s lab in the Chemsistry Department at Florida Tech, has been named Outstanding Graduate Student by the Orlando section of the American Chemical Society (ACS). In announcing the award, ACS thanked Chourey for choosing to study chemistry “and for doing so well in understanding and applying what you have learned.” Chourey, who plans to work as a medicinal chemist on the design and discovery of novel drugs for the treatment of behavioral and drug addictions, will receive a plaque and a $200 check at the awards luncheon on Dec. 5.
