Florida Tech’s annual spring food drive allowed for the purchase of 91 cases of soup for the Daily Bread food bank in Melbourne, reported Kimberly Schaefer, assistant director, Conference Services Bureau. That’s 1,092 cans, or about 9,000 bowls. Additional food donated by departing students at the end of the spring term yielded another 300 pounds of dry goods, from macaroni to cereal.
“I would like to thank Tom Stewart, Jon Skoviera and their team for helping collect donations and placing the order for all the soup,” Schaefer said. “Also I would like to thank John Czekanski and his team for helping make the delivery to the Daily Bread. And of course thanks to everyone who donated to make this possible. Great job, Florida Tech!”
