The Doctor of Psychology (Psy.D.) Program in Clinical Psychology at Florida Tech’s School of Psychology has been reaccredited by the Commission on Accreditation of the American Psychological Association. This reaccreditation is for seven years, the maximum allowable duration. The program was first accredited in 1983.
The on-site accreditation by the Commission is a peer evaluative process that ensures to the public, the field of professional psychology, prospective and current students, and alumni that levels of excellence in training have been met.
Like other health professions such as medicine and nursing, clinical psychology must be accredited if program graduates are to become practitioners.
In addition to the traditional training in theory, psychological assessment, intervention skills and critical thinking, the curriculum also integrates the accredited clinical training required to practice clinical psychology.
