Students Win Awards at Tri-Beta Meeting

Seven students attended the annual regional meeting of Beta Beta Beta in April, and four were recognized for their posters or presentations. The group, known as Tri-Beta, is an undergraduate student society dedicated to improving the understanding and appreciation of biological study through research.

Attending were Louis Penrod, Nate Zbasnik and Corianne Conway, all advised by Ralph Turingan; Courtney Shadik and Sebastian Martinez, advised by Mark Bush; Beverly Petilli, advised by Richard Turner; and Annette Narzynski, advised by Michael Grace.

Award winners were Petilli, first place poster; Shadik, second place poster; Penrod, second place oral presentation; and Narzynski, honorable mention oral presentation.

“Our students did a fantastic job representing FIT and the outstanding research performed here. They conducted themselves with dignity and utmost professionalism,” said Professor Glen Miller from the Department of Biological Studies. “Please join me in congratulating our students and their advisors on a job well done.”
