The university was recognized with the Chairman’s Award from the United Way of Brevard. Presented annually, the award is given to an organization that has shown sustained excellence in not only supporting United Way, but in actively making a difference in the community.

Under what the United Way called “the brilliant leadership” of Florida Tech President and CEO Anthony J. Catanese, a past United Way campaign and board chairman, the university has raised over $1.1 million for United Way during the last 10 years. Florida Tech is at the top of the statewide leader board for per capita giving of all Florida universities.

And for the 2014 campaign, Florida Tech hosted the kickoff event and provided a Loaned Leader, Joni Oglesby, vice president of support services and Title IX coordinator.
