Morkos Wins ASME Top Dissertation Award

Beshoy Morkos (pictured), an assistant professor in the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, has been awarded the 2014 ASME Top Dissertation Award from the American Society of Mechanical Engineers.The award, targeting candidates who are two years or less removed from completing their Ph.D.s, recognizes a promising young investigator who authored the best Ph.D. dissertation in the area of computers and information in engineering. Awardees are selected based on the novelty of their research, its potential and current impact, the quality of associated research methodology and analysis, and the overall quality of the written dissertation. Morkos’ dissertation is titled, “Computational Representation and Reasoning Support for Requirements Change Management in Complex System Design.”
