Hench Recognized For Lifetime Achievement by Three Journals

Larry Hench, pictured, university professor of engineering and director of the Center for Medical Materials & Photonics, will receive the Acta Biomaterialia Gold Medal at the annual meeting of the European Society for Biomaterials in Liverpool, England, in September. Recognized for his pioneering work in biomaterials, Hench has now won the top lifetime achievement awards in three key journals from science publisher Elsevier, with Acta Materiala’s J. Herbert Holomon Award and the Sir Nevill Mott Award from the Journal of Non-Crystalline Solids rounding out the recognition. Hench, a professor in has published more than 800 articles in Elsevier journals.
