Florida Gov. Rick Scott, left, and Ted Conway, back right, chat at the Conductive Education Center of Orlando.

Ted Conway, head of the Department of Biomedical Engineering, met with Florida Gov. Rick Scott during the governor’s recent visit to the Conductive Education Center of Orlando. The Center is a private educational institution for students with mobility impairments that utilizes advanced computational training tools to improve biomechanical gait and stability of the students.

The use of this technology is integrated into the school’s curriculum with significant funding from the General & Age Related Disabilities Engineering Program at the National Science Foundation, a program Conway formerly directed.
