On Sept. 20 Florida Tech students from Saudi Arabia celebrated Saudi National Day at the Gleason Performing Arts Center with more than 400 people in attendance, including Saudis from the local community. The program included a welcome by the Saudi Students Association President Hamad AlMohamedh and speeches by President Anthony J. Catanese and Muzaffar Shaikh, faculty advisor and assistant vice president for international programs.

The entertainment included folk dances by adults and children, and films about Saudi Arabia. “Many students came in traditional Saudi dress, and we enjoyed delicious Saudi food, dates and Saudi coffee,” said Shaikh.
