Ready to Run at Homecoming 5K

An undisputed highlight of Homecoming 2013, Oct. 24-26, was Florida Tech’s first-ever homecoming football game, which ended with a 37-3 win against Warner University. Other key events included a tennis match, parade, rowing races and a 5K run.

The 244 registrants for the 5K run ranged in age from 6 to 75. The overall winner was former Florida Tech track team member Chris Cacciapaglia ‘12, finishing at 15:52 minutes. Bino Campanini, alumni affairs, and Annie Becker and Sharon Carnohan (Nathan M. Bisk College of Business) placed first in their age groups as did Tristan Fiedler, research. Lisa Petrillo, Evans Library, was second overall for females. Additionally, placing third in their age groups were Scott Benjamin, COB; Colleen Middlebrooks, The Scott Center; Jane Clary, gift/financial reporting; Troy Glassman, military science; and student Jacob Clary.

Overall fourth place winner was Bino Campanini’s son Luca. President Anthony J. Catanese placed second in his age group and the COB recruited more than a dozen runners. An impressive turnout!
