Health Expo Draws 400-plus to Clemente Center

Linda Jancheson and Karen Gathercole, human resources, work the check-in table.

More than 400 faculty and staff members visited and 167 made time for a health check on Sept. 25 at the Clemente Center Health Expo. The annual event was brought to campus by the human resources department and Florida Blue. Fifteen door prizes were given away, including one-hour massage coupons, a Keurig coffeemaker, Outback Steakhouse gift card, juicer and chair massager.

Panther Dining included some tasty, extra-healthy items on the menu that day. Human Resources will continue to partner with Panther Dining as part of the Wellness Committee efforts; look forward to more healthy menus in the future.

\”The Human Resources Office was very excited to offer a combined event this year with the Clemente Center,” said Karen Gathercole, benefits manager. “By offering the Employee Health Fair and Clemente Open House at the same time, we were able to bring in over 60 vendors and fill the entire gym floor. We saw a 30 percent increase over last year in faculty and staff completing health screenings. I want to thank everyone who was involved in the event for their hard work. It was clearly a huge success!”
