The North-American Interfraternity Conference (NIC), a trade association representing 75 American and Canadian fraternities, recognizes Florida Institute of Technology NIC chapters for achieving grade point averages (GPA) above all male students’ average GPAs on campus.

Of the 227 campuses that reported data to the NIC for the 2012-13 academic year, only 20 campuses reported that 100 percent of their chapter members have achieved this milestone.

In spring 2013, Florida Tech had a male undergraduate student body of 2,140, of which 12.8 percent were members of eight fraternities. The NIC has about 5,500 chapter members located in more than 800 campuses across North America with approximately 350,000 undergraduate members.
