MS Bikers Stop at Florida Tech

Five bicyclists, on a 2,637 mile trek from Bar Harbor, Maine, to Key West to raise money for Multiple Sclerosis research, stopped at Florida Tech for two overnights in June. The Florida Tech connection was made by one of the team, Kristen Lewald, who worked for Fran Warkomski, former Scott Center for Autism Treatment director, for 15 years in Pennsylvania before Warkomski came to Florida Tech. Lewald, who is statewide project director for the Pennsylvania Value-Added Assessment System for the state DOE, drove the support truck with her brother, who has MS.

The fundraisers, who made it to Key West on June 22, raised more than $25,000.
