Alison Bogart has joined Florida Tech part time as head of the new Internal Audit Department. The website at www.fit.edu/audit describes internal auditing as “an independent, objective assurance and consulting activity designed to add value and improve operations. It helps the university accomplish its objectives by bringing a systematic, disciplined approach to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of risk management, control and governance processes. “
Residing in Rockledge after relocating from Kansas in 2006, Bogart gained extensive multi-industry experience in consulting positions at the nation’s first and fifth largest public accounting firms, Deloitte & Touche and RSM McGladrey. She has also worked for Sprint.
Bogart has achieved three certifications in the risk management field; she is a Certified Fraud Examiner, Certified Internal Auditor and Certified Information Systems Auditor. She was honored in 2009 with Brevard’s “4 under 40” young professional award, which salutes community involvement.
“I’m truly looking forward to the opportunity to interact with everyone in the Florida Tech family. I’m honored to have the unique role of reviewing risk, improving processes and increasing transparency. My reviews will increase university effectiveness and efficiency, helping us to make Florida Tech become even better,\” she said.
