The College of Engineering has signed a five-year agreement with the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro for exchanges, research and collaboration.

Both parties agreed to encourage the exchange of professors and graduate students; establish joint research projects; allow collaboration in seminars, workshops, conferences and other academic meetings; and to develop funding opportunities to provide financial support for master’s and doctoral exchange students in engineering, including computer sciences and oceanography.

“I am very happy to see this agreement come to fruition,” said College of Engineering Dean Fred Ham. “We have had a very positive relationship with the Pontifical Catholic University in the past and I believe this strengthens the bond and will provide many opportunities to do more together.”
