WFIT Dedicates New Studios; TWITCHY Drops Latest CD

TWITCHY Performs cuts from new CD.

Well-wishers gathered outside the new WFIT Broadcast Center on Oct. 11 to witness its official opening and dedication. General Manager Terri Wright thanked all those responsible for the long-awaited, spacious facility, including President Anthony J. Catanese, Chief Operating Officer T. Dwayne McCay and Florida Senator Thad Altman, who joined her in expressing words of appreciation.

All was ready inside except the new broadcast equipment. With its expected arrival at the end of October, the WFIT staff is slated to move in the first week of November.

After a tour of the building, guests enjoyed refreshments in the adjacent Gleason Performing Arts Center then were treated to the good vibrations of the president’s all-faculty band, TWITCHY. The band performed original blues, rock ‘n roll and a little country, sharing with the audience some of the cuts of their newly released second CD, “Hey Mr. Professor.” The CD is available for $10 at the campus bookstore; proceeds will support the Florida Tech music program.
