$112,500 Grant Supports Life-critical Systems Research

University Professor Guy Boy earned a $112,500 grant from the Partner University Fund (PUF) for “Joint research lab on risk management in life-critical systems.” The project, between Florida Tech and the Université de Valenciennes, was one of 11 selected from among 70 applications. Boy is director of the university’s Human Centered Design Institute.

The grant announcement letter, from the French embassy in New York, reads in part: “The PUF Grant Review Committee greatly appreciated the scientific quality of your project and the commitment of your institution to the partnership.”

The funding will support an exchange of professors. Faculty from the Université de Valenciennes will teach human-centered design at Florida Tech and Florida Tech professors will offer their expertise in France.
