Delegation Attends Florida Resident Assistant Seminar

An eight-member delegation from Florida Tech attended the two-day Florida Resident Assistant Seminar (FRAS) in Sarasota Jan. 19-21. The seminar, co-hosted by Ringling College of Art and Design and New College of Florida, attracted 21 institutions.

Florida Tech’s delegation was comprised of Connor Nelson, Jack Mueller, Jamison Burch, Karly Lorenzini, Katie Chastain, Marc Kanneh, Marifer Sagastume and Nashaita Patrawalla, as well advisors Warren Pittorie and Peter Zappala.

The delegation, known as the Sharks in keeping with the event’s “Under the Sea” theme, and several members were recognized with awards.

  • Lorenzini took first place for her seminar in the category of Resident Engagement and Community Building.
  • Shark Tank: Florida Tech ResLife Edition took third place for roll call.
  • The Sharks’ digitized mailbox took first place for mailbox.
  • The Sharks placed second in overall school spirit.
