Tiziano Bernard, a native of Trieste, Italy, who was the first graduate of Florida Tech’s flight test engineering master’s program and is currently earning his Ph.D. in human centered design, received the Medaglia del Comune di Trieste – the Medal of the Government of Trieste – from the city’s mayor in a Dec. 20 ceremony.
According to a news release, the medal presented by Roberto Dipiazza is “a sign of esteem and appreciation for the brilliant results obtained and for the strong passion that has always driven and continues to characterize its commitment in aerospace.”
Is also recognizes those who proudly represent Trieste abroad.
Earlier this month, Tiziano was profiled in one of Italy’s national newspapers, Il Piccolo. His educational accomplishments were noted, as was his alma mater, described as a “prestigious institute.”
“The United States has given me so much, but I have always maintained a strong link with Italy,” Bernard is quoted as saying in the article.
