Several people from Florida Tech presented funded grant research at the Federal Aviation Administration Annual Meeting in May at Texas A&M University. Professor Donna Wilt presented as principal investigator her her findings on general aviation runway incursions. Professor Deborah Carstens presented as principal investigator on airport safety database and analysis.” Associate Professor Steve Cusick presented a demonstration of the Airport Safety Database; and doctoral student Gajapriya Tamilselvan presented for principal investigator John Deaton on his project runway safety human factors.

Ivan Farrell, Ph.D., a faculty member in the Department of Education and Interdisciplinary Studies, was first author with Education and Interdisciplinary Studies Department Head and Professor Kastro Hamed of the article, “Examining the Relationship Between Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge (TPACK) and Student Achievement Utilizing the Florida Value-Added Model,” published online June 12 in the Journal of Research on Technology in Education.

The Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) has confirmed that Florida Tech’s Master’s of Science in Human Resources Management degree program follows its recommended guidelines for HR education. The national agency found that Florida Tech’s program “fully aligns” with the SHRM curriculum guidebook.
