Students Recognized at AIAA Conference
Twenty-four Florida Tech students attended the AIAA 67th Annual Region 2 Student Conference in Alabama.

Twenty-four Florida Tech students attended the AIAA 67th Annual Region 2 Student Conference in Alabama.

Students Mark Montero, Nate Baldwin, Felix Isaac Arias Alvarez, Anika Ahmed and Emils Senkans were recognized at the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics 67th Annual Region 2 Conference in Huntsville, Alabama. The conference featured 83 presentations by 209 students from throughout the southeast United States.

Montero and Baldwin won Second Place in the Team Category for their paper, “Development of a 6DOF Spacecraft Dynamics Simulator and a Reaction Wheel Attitude Control System for a CubeSat.” Alvarez and Ahmed won Second Place in the Freshman/Sophomore “Open Topic” category for a paper called “Space Launch System.” And Senkans won Third Place in the Freshman/Sophomore “Open Topic” category for a paper called “Plants in Space.” In all, 24 Florida Tech students traveled to the event and presented 18 papers.
