Nearly 300 students from 25 state universities in Florida gathered in Melbourne in late January as the Florida Institute of Technology Residence Life team hosted the annual Florida Resident Assistant Seminar. It was the first time Florida Tech hosted the annual event.

Director of Residence Life Greg Connell and Residence Life Coordinator Jacqueline Hetherington were conference advisors, and students Peter Zappala and Joseph Torkaman served as conference chairs. Florida Tech beat out two other institutions in the competitive process to host the event.

The seminar featured programming in key RA topics including community and staff development, diversity and social justice, personal development and philanthropy.
