Florida Tech’s Office of Civic Engagement announced a new Civic Engagement Initiative Tracking System. The system was developed to make civic engagement tracking a more user-friendly experience for students, faculty, staff and civic partners.
For civic partners, the system increases customization options allowing them to update, change and add opportunities to their own portal in the system. For students, faculty and staff, in addition to allowing them to view open opportunities and communicate directly with civic partners, users are able to track their volunteer hours or dollars raised and use that information to generate a co-curricular transcript.
“The new civic engagement tracking system is much more user-friendly and allows a student to track his or her involvement more easily,” said Interfraternity Council President and senior communications student Gary “Duke” Richardson.
The new system was more than a year in development.
Visit the Office of Civic Engagement at http://www.fit.edu/civic/ to access the system and for more information. Questions may also be sent to email@example.com. The Office of Student Activities on the second floor of the Denius Student Center will offer tutorials, tips and tricks from 1:30-2:30 p.m. each Thursday during the fall semester.
